My client isn’t your average law firm. They value collaboration and strive for excellence in everything they do.

They are looking to recruit a Plot Purchasing Assistant to assist their Fee Earners and conduct Plot Running casework in their fast-paced New Build team.  The department deals with a large number of transactions each year so this is a very busy role within a progressive law firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with clients via email and the telephone.
  • Collaborate with Fee Earners on client files to progress files as smoothly and as quickly as possible.
  • Assist the team with workloads of the team when required.
  • Being responsible for the running of your own case load from initial instructions to an exchange of contracts alongside the relevant Fee Earner.
  • Reviewing client’s initial paperwork, carrying out ID checks and finalise onboarding process.
  • Adhere to AML and other compliance requirements at all times.
  • Ordering searches and reporting to clients, lenders and Help to Buy on all aspects of the transaction.
  • Liaising with lenders with regards to mortgage offers.
  • Exchanging contracts with the Developer’s solicitors.
  • Communicating with Seller’s solicitors and Developers with regards to progression of all client files and providing updates where necessary.
  • When required, attend site visits to assist with business development for the department.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are capable of working on their own initiative whilst being a strong team player and that they can communicate with a wide range of individuals and Developers.  An ability to consistently maintain high standards will be essential as will excellent IT skills. You must be comfortable with communicating with clients on a wide range of platforms and with being responsible for running your own caseload. You will also need to demonstrate that you are able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines without compromising on service.

Applicants must possess at least 5 GCSE’s Grade 9 to 4 including Maths and English.  A full driving licence is also essential.  Experience of working in a legal environment is not required, although experience within an office environment will be an advantage.  Data entry skills will be essential as well as good attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
